Tim Howard will spend next season with Everton.

Tim Howard's chances for first team action increased dramatically after Manchester United agreed to loan him to Everton for the upcoming season.

"I am really looking forward to playing first team football and the new challenges that will bring," Howard said.

The loan will enable the World Cup bound goalkeeper to gain some vital experience.

"This is a great move for Tim," said Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson. "He will get the experience of the Premier League and we've wanted to do this for a long time.

"He will come back a better goalkeeper. Everton is a good club and will create new challenges for Tim."

The 26-year-old New Jersey native joined Manchester United from the MetroStars in 2003 and has made 77 first team appearances for the club. He was named top goalkeeper in the Premier League for the 2003/2004 season.

This season, Howard lost his starting position to Dutch international Edwin van der Sar and saw little action.

The move becomes official on July 1 and Howard will begin preseason training with his new team on July 3.
