Rising U.S. star Clint Dempsey has been suspended by the Revolution for two weeks following a fight with New England captain Joe Franchino at practice on Monday.

Dempsey and Franchino exchanged punches and had to be restrained by head coach Steve Nicol and other players. The altercation took place during a scrimmage at an indoor training center and later spilled over into the locker room.

Franchino, who seemed to take the worst of the altercation, required an x-ray that proved to be negative.

The suspension will not impact Dempsey's ability to play for the U.S. National Team for their upcoming international friendly against Germany on March 22nd.
